Section 6128 - Dealing in official traffic-control devices or bridge parts(a) General rule.--A person commits a summary offense if he knowingly purchases, sells or offers for sale an official traffic-control device or an identifiable railing or other part of a public bridge.(b) Presumption.--An official traffic-control device or an identifiable railing or other part of a public bridge found in the place of business of a person who deals in scrap metal shall be presumed to be offered for sale by the scrap metal dealer.(c) Exception.--This section shall not apply to sales by or to: (1) the Commonwealth or local authorities or their agents or contractors; or(2) manufacturers or fabricators.(d) Penalty.--A person who violates the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $100 for each official traffic-control device or identifiable piece of railing or other part of a public bridge he is convicted of purchasing, selling or offering for sale.1998, Dec. 21, P.L. 1126, No. 151, § 53, imd. effective.
