Section 5505 - Unauthorized operation of boats(a) Consent required.--It is unlawful for a person to operate the boat of another without the consent of the owner.(b) Defense.--It is a defense to prosecution under this section that the operator reasonably believed that the owner would have consented to the operation had the owner known of it.(c) Penalty.--Any person violating this section commits a summary offense of the first degree.Added by P.L. 1716 2012 No. 211, § 7, eff. 12/31/2012.
