Section 10702 - First elections in newly created cities
(a) Election.--At the first municipal election occurring at least 90 days after the date of the letters patent issued by the Governor incorporating the city, the registered voters of the city shall elect city officials as provided under section 10701(a)(1) (relating to elected officers, term, reelection and vacancy).
(b) Highest votes.--The two candidates for council receiving the highest number of votes at the election shall serve for a term of four years from the first Monday of January next succeeding the candidate's election.
(c) Next highest votes.--The two candidates for council receiving the next highest number of votes shall serve for a term of two years from the first Monday of January next succeeding the election.
