Section 497.002 - "Resident" and "nonresident" definedExcept as provided in ORS 497.006, as used in this chapter:
(1)(a) "Resident" means a person who has physically resided in this state for not less than six consecutive months immediately prior to the date of making application for a license, tag or permit issued by the State Fish and Wildlife Commission.(b) "Resident" does not include a person: (A) Who merely owns real property or pays property taxes in this state; or(B) Who claims resident privileges in another state or country for any purpose.(2) "Nonresident" means any person other than a resident.Amended by 2021 Ch. 128,§ 1, eff. 1/1/2022.
