Section 18.872 - Return on writ of execution(1) The sheriff shall make a return on the writ of execution to the court administrator within 60 days after the sheriff receives the writ. The person that requested issuance of the writ may authorize the sheriff to continue execution under the writ and delay making a return on the writ to a date not later than 150 days after the sheriff receives the writ as long as the execution sale occurs no later than 150 days after the sheriff receives the writ. The final date for return on the writ may be extended as provided in ORS 18.932 and 18.938. For good cause shown, the court that issued the writ may extend the time for a return on the writ beyond the time provided by this subsection.(2) The return on a writ of execution must reflect whether the sheriff levied on any property pursuant to the terms of the writ. If the sheriff did levy on property pursuant to the terms of the writ, the return must reflect the disposition made of the property by the sheriff. If any property was sold, the sheriff shall deliver the net proceeds of the sale to the court administrator with the return as required by ORS 18.950. If currency was levied on, the sheriff shall deliver the currency to the court administrator with the return.(3) The return on a writ of execution must reflect the amount of costs of sale claimed by the judgment creditor under ORS 18.950(2). The judgment creditor must provide the sheriff with a statement of the costs claimed on or before the date of the execution sale.(4) The sheriff shall mail a copy of the return by first class mail to the judgment debtor and to the judgment creditor.
