Section 230.59 - Substance abuse studyA. The Department of Human Services, working with the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, shall conduct a study to determine the extent to which substance abuse interferes with the ability of recipients in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program to secure and maintain employment leading to self sufficiency.B. The study shall include, but not be limited to, an assessment of the extent of the substance abuse problem among public assistance recipients in this state, the availability of a range of treatment resources statewide, and consideration of the use of drug testing, sanctions, and other tools recognized in successful intervention models, as well as the safety of any children involved.C. The Department shall issue a report of its findings and any recommendations to the Governor and the Legislature not later than June 1, 1998.Okla. Stat. tit. 56, § 230.59
