Section 452 - [Effective 11/1/2024] Defendant must appear personally, when

If the indictment or information is for a felony the defendant must be present, either in person or by videoconference, but if for a misdemeanor only, the personal appearance is unnecessary, and the defendant may appear upon the arraignment by counsel.
