Every children's court, city court, county court or other court in this state possessing jurisdiction under existing law to try, punish, institutionalize or supervise minors is hereby further authorized to restrict any minor judicially determined to have committed a misdemeanor or act of vandalism or delinquency which in such court's judgment is not serious enough to warrant placement in an institution, but is serious enough to require restitution for acts of delinquency, as follows:
(a) Every such minor may be provided suitable work on such public or civic projects, or other charitable programs as the judge might, in his own discretion, find to be appropriate.(b) Time and supervision to perform such tasks may be provided at the court's discretion by an officer of any governmental agency, and funds to pay for this supervision shall be provided from the court fund of the court involved.(c) No minor shall be required hereunder to perform what would be classed in a penal institution as "hard labor", nor to interrupt a bona fide educational program nor to be assigned to such work for more than six (6) weeks.Okla.
