Section 573 - Appropriate Public AuthoritiesA. The Term "appropriate public authorities" as used in Article III of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children, with reference to this state, means the Department of Human Services. The Department shall receive and act with reference to notices required by Article III of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.B. The Department may contract, as necessary, with any public or private entity to administer or otherwise perform such functions as may be required for the proper administration of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.Okla. Laws 2008 , SB 906, c. 156, §1 enacts the new Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children as 10 O.S. §577. Section 2of the act repeals 10 O.S. §§571, 572, 573, 574, 575, and 576. Section 3provides that the enactment shall become effective upon the enactment by thrity-five states, as defined by Article II of the Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children or 7/1/2008, whichever is later.
