Ohio Rev. Code § 4709.08

Section 4709.08 - [Effective 10/24/2024] Reciprocity
(A) Any individual who holds a current license or registration to practice as a barber or teach the theory and practice of barbering in any other country whose requirements for licensure or registration of barbers, barber instructors, or assistant barber instructors are substantially equivalent to the requirements of this chapter and rules adopted under it may apply to the state cosmetology and barber board for a barber, barber instructor, or assistant barber instructor license.
(B) The board shall issue a license to an applicant who meets all of the following requirements :
(1) Is at least eighteen years of age ;
(2) In the case of an applicant for a barber license, passes an examination conducted under section 4709.07 of the Revised Code, unless the applicant satisfies conditions specified in rules adopted under section 4709.05 of the Revised Code for the board to issue the applicant a license without taking the examination;
(3) Pays the required fees.
