Section 3781.032 - Temporary building permit for retail establishments(A) As used in this section: (1) "Retail establishment" means a place of business open to the general public for the sale of goods or services.(2) "State and local building code" means Chapters 3781. and 3791. of the Revised Code, rules adopted pursuant to those chapters, and municipal corporation regulations adopted in accordance with section 3781.01 of the Revised Code.(B) If the department or agency of the state or any political subdivision having jurisdiction to enforce state and local building code on a retail establishment, including a retail establishment that is under construction and not yet open to the public, is unable to conduct an inspection or issue a permit required by state and local building code for more than five business days, the owner, operator, or developer of the retail establishment may seek a temporary permit from any building code official authorized to conduct such an inspection or issue such a permit elsewhere in this state.
