Section 4.1-27-01 - DefinitionsIn this chapter, unless the context or subject matter otherwise requires:
1. "Commissioner" means the agriculture commissioner.2. "Livestock" means horses, mules, asses, bison, cattle, swine, sheep, farmed elk, and goats.3. "Livestock auction market" means a place or establishment conducted or operated for compensation or profit as a public market or a private buying station, consisting of pens or other enclosures and their appurtenances; in which livestock is received, held, or kept for sale; and where that livestock is sold or offered for sale, at either public auction or private sale.Added by S.L. 2017, ch. 68 (SB 2028),§ 2, eff. 7/1/2017.
