Section 18-13-07 - [Contingent Expiration - See Note] Inspection

The insurance commissioner and the state fire marshal may examine the books, papers, invoices, and other records of any person in possession, control, or occupancy of any premises where cigarettes are placed, stored, sold, or offered for sale, as well as the stock of cigarettes on the premises. Every person in the possession, control, or occupancy of any premises where cigarettes are placed, sold, or offered for sale shall give the insurance commissioner and the state fire marshal the means, facilities, and opportunity for the examinations authorized by this section.

As provided by S.L. 2009, ch. 196, § 4, this section becomes ineffective on the date the State Fire Marshal certifies to the Legislative Council that a federal reduced cigarette ignition propensity standard has been adopted and has become effective.
