Section 66-3-856 - Emergency signals; dangerous cargoes

No driver shall use or permit the use of any flame-producing emergency signal for protecting any motor vehicle transporting explosives, any cargo tank motor vehicle used for the transportation of any flammable liquid or flammable compressed gas, whether loaded or empty; or any motor vehicle using compressed gas as a motor fuel. In lieu thereof, red electric lanterns or red emergency reflectors shall be used, the placement of which shall be in the same manner as prescribed in Section 66-3-853 B and C NMSA 1978.
