Section 61-2-8 - Qualifications for licensure as an optometristEach applicant for licensure as an optometrist shall furnish evidence satisfactory to the board that the applicant:
A. has reached the age of majority; andB. has graduated and been awarded a doctor of optometry degree from a school or college of optometry approved and accredited by the board. In the event the applicant applies for licensure by endorsement, the applicant shall have been awarded a doctor of optometry degree from a school or college of optometry, approved and accredited by the board, which had a minimum course of study of four thousand clock hours of instruction leading to that degree.1953 Comp., § 67-1-7, enacted by Laws 1973, ch. 353, § 7.Amended by 2022, c. 39,s. 12, eff. 5/18/2022.Amended by 2021, c. 70,s. 7, eff. 6/18/2021.
