Section 59A-22-1 - Scope of articleChapter 59A, Article 22 NMSA 1978 applies generally to policies of individual health insurance, including student health plan policies. Nothing in that article shall apply to or affect:
A. any policy of workers' compensation insurance or any policy of liability insurance with or without supplementary expense coverage therein;B. life insurance, endowment or annuity contracts or contracts supplemental thereto that contain only such provisions relating to health insurance as: (1) provide additional benefits in case of death by accident; and(2) operate to safeguard such contracts against lapse or to give a special surrender value or special benefit or annuity in event the insured or annuitant becomes totally and permanently disabled, as defined by the contract or supplemental contract;C. group or blanket health insurance, except as stated in Chapter 59A, Article 23 NMSA 1978; orLaws 1984, ch. 127, § 422; 2017, ch. 130, § 14.Amended by 2017, c. 130,s. 14, eff. 7/1/2017.
