Section 52:27B-6 - General powers and duties of commissionerThe commissioner, in addition to powers and duties specifically conferred and imposed upon him, shall have the following general powers and duties, to:
a. Maintain suitable headquarters for the department and such other quarters within the State as he may deem necessary to the department's proper functioning;b. Have general responsibility for all of the department's operations under this act;c. Supervise the organization of the department and changes in the organization thereof except that the divisions and bureaus of the department herein specifically provided shall be maintained; formulate and adopt rules and regulations for the efficient conduct of the work and general administration of the department, its officers and employees;d. Make an annual report to the Governor and to the Legislature of the department's operations, and render such other reports as the Governor shall from time to time request.L.1944, c.112, art. 2, p.288, s.5.
