Section 40:23-8.11 - Appropriations for services for certain persons

The board of chosen freeholders of any county may appropriate annually to any approved, privately operated, nonprofit organization whose services are nonsectarian, funds for the purpose of defraying the necessary expense incident to the diagnosis, treatment and training of persons with intellectual disabilities, persons with a brain injury, or persons with mental illness who are residents of the county, at suitable homes, schools, hospitals, day-care centers, residential treatment centers or sheltered workshops anywhere in the State supported by public funds or private charity, including the cost of transporting such persons to and from, and their support and maintenance at, such homes, schools, hospitals, day-care centers, residential treatment centers or sheltered workshops for the purpose of, or while undergoing diagnosis, treatment and training
