Section 39:2A-14 - Election of vice-chair

The board shall elect annually, by a majority of the full membership of the board, one of its members, other than the Chair, to serve as Vice-Chair for the ensuing year. The Vice-Chair shall hold office until January 1 next ensuing. The Vice-Chair, acting in the capacity of presiding officer, shall carry out all of the responsibilities of the Chair of the board during the Chair's absence, disqualification, or inability to serve.

Added by L. 2003, c. 13, s. 14, eff. on the date the Commissioner of Transportation certifies to the Governor that a majority of the members of the commission have been appointed or are in office and that all necessary anticipatory actions have been accomplished, provided, that the amount of revenues received pursuant to sections 109 and 110 of chapter 13 prior to the date of certification are hereby appropriated to the division.
