Section 17B:27B-24 - Violations, penalties

The commissioner may, upon notice and hearing, assess a civil administrative penalty in an amount not less than $250 nor more than $5,000 for each day that a third party administrator or third party billing service is in violation of this act. A penalty imposed by the commissioner pursuant to this section may be in lieu of, or in addition to, suspension or revocation of a license pursuant to this act. A penalty may be recovered in a summary proceeding pursuant to the "Penalty Enforcement Law of 1999," P.L. 1999, c. 274(C.2A:58-10 et seq.).
