Section 704.7571 - "Electric utility" defined1. "Electric utility" means:(a) Any public utility or successor in interest that:(1) Is in the business of providing electric service to customers;(2) Holds a certificate of public convenience and necessity issued or transferred pursuant to this chapter; and(3) In the most recently completed calendar year or in any other calendar year within the 7 calendar years immediately preceding the most recently completed calendar year, had a gross operating revenue of $250,000,000 or more in this state;(b) A subsidiary or affiliate of such a public utility;(c) A holding company or other person that holds a controlling interest in such a public utility; and(d) A successor in interest to any public utility, subsidiary, affiliate, holding company or person described in paragraph (a), (b) or (c).2. The term does not include a cooperative association, nonprofit corporation, nonprofit association or provider of electric service which is declared to be a public utility pursuant to NRS 704.673 and which provides service only to its members.Added to NRS by 2001, 343Added to NRS by 2001, 343
