Section 637B.196 - Speech-language pathologists and audiologists: Educational requirements1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2:(a) An applicant for a license to engage in the practice of speech-language pathology must satisfy the academic requirements of an educational program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or its successor organization approved by the Board.(b) An applicant for a license to engage in the practice of audiology must satisfy the academic requirements of an educational program accredited by the: (1) American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or its successor organization approved by the Board; or(2) Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education or its successor organization approved by the Board.2. An applicant for a license to engage in the practice of audiology or speech-language pathology who receives an education in audiology or speech-language pathology from a foreign school must prove to the satisfaction of the Board that his or her educational program:(a) Is substantially equivalent to the requirements set forth in subsection 1, as applicable; and(b) Is accredited by an accrediting agency approved by the Board.Added to NRS by 2015, 2297Added by 2015, Ch. 404,§19, eff. 10/1/2015.
