Section 62B.200 - Powers and duties of counties to provide facilities for detention of children and alternative programs1. The board of county commissioners:(a) In a county whose population is 55,000 or more, shall provide a facility for the detention of children.(b) In all other counties, may provide a facility for the detention of children.2. The boards of county commissioners of two or more counties, without regard to the population of the counties, may provide a combined facility for the detention of children under terms agreed upon by the boards of county commissioners and the juvenile courts of the affected judicial districts.3.
