Section 484B.840 - Department: Review of reports from third party contractor; provision of advice and assistance to law enforcement agencies; presentation to Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission1. The Department shall review any reports provided to the Department by the third party with whom the Department contracts pursuant to subsection 1 of NRS 484B.837.2. After reviewing a report, the Department may provide advice or technical assistance to any law enforcement agency mentioned in the report. Any advice or technical assistance provided must be based on best practices in policing as determined by the Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission.3. Upon providing advice or technical assistance to a law enforcement agency pursuant to subsection 2, the Department shall, within a reasonable period, present to the Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission a summary of the advice or technical assistance given.
