Section 483.2523 - Drivers who are 16 or 17 years of age: Restriction on transporting certain passengers under 18 years of age during initial period of licensure; penalty; effect of violation1. A person to whom a driver's license is issued pursuant to NRS 483.2521 shall not, during the first 6 months after the date on which the driver's license is issued, transport as a passenger a person who is under 18 years of age, unless the person is a member of his or her immediate family.2. A person who violates the provisions of this section: (a) For a first offense, must be ordered to comply with the provisions of this section for 6 months after the date on which the driver's license is issued.(b) For a second or subsequent offense, must be ordered to: (1) Pay a civil penalty in an amount not to exceed $250;(2) Comply with the provisions of this section for such additional time as determined by the court; or(3) Both pay such a civil penalty and comply with the provisions of this section for such additional time as determined by the court.3.
