Section 387.563 - Acquisition of facility or project for career and technical education; requirements of compact; establishment of advisory council; agreements with community and businesses authorized1. If two or more school districts acquire a facility or project jointly pursuant to the provisions of this section and NRS 387.531 to 387.591, inclusive, for the purpose of providing career and technical education to pupils enrolled in high schools, the participating school districts shall enter into a compact that sets forth the terms of the agreement among the participating school districts concerning the joint facility or project. The compact must include, without limitation:(a) Provisions concerning the apportionment of expenses for the joint facility or project;(b) Provisions establishing the total number of pupils and the percentage of pupils from each school district that may enroll in each course or program of career and technical education offered by the joint facility or project;(c) Provisions concerning personnel for the joint facility or project;(d) Provisions establishing an advisory council to assist with oversight of the joint facility or project, the powers and duties of the advisory council and the number of members that must be appointed to the advisory council from among the membership of the board of trustees of each participating school district, which must include at least one member of the board of trustees of each participating school district appointed by the president of the board of trustees of the school district; and(e) Any other provisions governing the operation of the joint facility or project as deemed necessary by the participating school districts.2. The participating school districts may enter into one or more agreements of cooperation with representatives of the community and businesses and industry who are interested in the career and technical education offered by the joint facility or project. If such an agreement is entered into, the advisory council established pursuant to subsection 1 may appoint one or more of the representatives to the advisory council.Added to NRS by 2007, 373Added to NRS by 2007, 373
