Section 244A.549 - Lien for unpaid service charges1. Until paid, all service charges of the county or the State charged to any person owning or occupying real property in the county constitute a perpetual lien against the property served, superior to all liens, claims and titles other than liens for general taxes and special assessments. This lien is not extinguished by the sale of any property on account of nonpayment of any other lien, claim or title, including liens for general taxes and special assessments.2. A lien for unpaid service charges may be foreclosed in the same manner as provided for the foreclosure of mechanics' liens. Before any such lien is foreclosed the board shall hold a hearing on the lien after notice thereof by registered or certified first-class mail, postage prepaid, addressed to the last known owner at his or her last known address according to the records of the county in which the property is located.Added to NRS by 1977, 16; A 1995, 2224Added to NRS by 1977, 16; A 1995, 2224
