Section 225.540 - Powers; annual report to Legislative Commission; gifts, grants and donations; administrative support; assistance from governmental entities1. The Task Force may: (a) Develop strategies with private sector businesses, labor organizations and immigrant advocacy groups to support current and future industries across this State;(b) Conduct research on methods to strengthen career pathways for immigrants and create enhanced partnerships with projected growth industries;(c) Support the efforts of business leadership, civic groups, government and immigrant advocacy groups to provide predictability and stability to the workforce in this State;(d) Recommend approaches to improve the ability of this State to attract and retain immigrant business owners that provide new business and trade opportunities; and(e) Enter into a contract with a consultant to perform research necessary to carry out the duties of the Task Force.2. On or before July 1, 2024, and on or before July 1 of each subsequent year, the Task Force shall submit a written report to the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau for submission to the Legislative Commission. The report must include, without limitation, a summary of the work of the Task Force and any recommendations for legislation.3. The Secretary of State may accept gifts, grants and donations from any source for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of NRS 225.500 to 225.540, inclusive.4. The Office of the Secretary of State shall provide personnel, facilities, equipment, funding and supplies as required by the Task Force to carry out its duties.5. Each agency, board, commission, department, officer, employee or agent of this State, or a political subdivision thereof, shall provide the Task Force with such assistance as the Task Force may reasonably require in discharging its duties.Added to NRS by 2023, 2741Added by 2023, Ch. 447,§1.7, eff. 7/1/2023.
