Section 7-4-2222 - Substitution of reproduction for original document(1) Any document, plat, paper, written instrument, or book reproduced as provided in 7-4-2221 may be disposed of or destroyed pursuant to the requirements of 2-6-1012 and Title 2, chapter 6, part 12, and the reproductions may be substituted as public records.(2) A reproduction of any record destroyed or disposed of as authorized in this section or a certified copy of the reproduction is admissible as evidence in any court or proceeding and has the same force and effect as though the original record had been produced and proved.(3) The custodian of the records shall prepare enlarged typed or photographic copies of the records whenever their production is required by law.Amended by Laws 2019, Ch. 94,Sec. 1, eff. 10/1/2019, applicable retroactively, within the meaning of 1-2-109, to actions or occurrences on or after July 1, 2009.(1)En.
