Section 7-3-4310 - Election for municipal officers after reorganization(1) If the majority of the votes cast at the election are in favor of reorganization, the city or town council shall hold a meeting within 1 week after the election and order an election to be held in accordance with Title 13, chapter 1, part 4, for the purpose of electing the number of commissioners to which the municipality is entitled. This order must specify the time of holding the election, which must be in accordance with 13-1-405. For the first election of officers, a primary election may not be held. The term of office for officers initially elected under this subsection expires after subsequent officers are elected pursuant to subsection (2).(2) Each subsequent election of officers must involve a primary election and a general election conducted in accordance with Title 13. The primary election must be held on the date specified in 13-1-107. The general election must be held on the date established in 13-1-104.(3) In addition to the notice required under 13-1-108, a copy of the proclamation must be posted at each voting place in the municipality and in five of the most public places in the municipality.Amended by Laws 2015, Ch. 49, Sec. 70, eff. 11/4/2015.(1)En.
