Section 61-8-378 - Low-speed electric vehicle - golf cart operated by person with low-speed restricted driver's license - operating requirements(1) A low-speed electric vehicle may be operated only by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license.(2) A low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license may be operated only on a highway for which the posted speed limit does not exceed 25 miles per hour.(3) A low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license may not cross a highway with a posted speed limit of greater than 45 miles per hour.(4) Except as provided in subsections (1) through (3), the provisions of this chapter apply to a low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license.En.
