Mont. Code § 37-14-101

The legislature declares that the practice of radiologic technology affects the public health, safety, and welfare and that it is therefore necessary to regulate and control such practice in the public interest. The purpose of this chapter is to protect the public from the unprofessional, improper, unauthorized, or unqualified practice of radiologic technology.
