Section 93-21-31 - Domestic Violence Training Fund; funding of expenses of Domestic Violence Division of the Office of Attorney General; deposit of user charges and fees authorized under this section into State General Fund(1) There is hereby created in the State Treasury a special fund designated as the Domestic Violence Training Fund. The fund shall be administered by the Attorney General. Money remaining in the fund at the end of a fiscal year shall not lapse into the State General Fund and any interest earned from the investment of monies in the fund shall be deposited to the credit of the fund. Monies appropriated to the fund shall be used by the Attorney General for the general administration and expenses of the Domestic Violence Division which provides training to law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, court clerks and other professionals in the field of domestic violence awareness, prevention and enforcement.(2) The clerks of the various courts shall remit the proceeds generated by Chapter 434, Laws of 2009, to the Department of Finance and Administration as is done generally for other fees collected by the clerks.(3) From and after July 1, 2016, the expenses of the Domestic Violence Division of the Office of Attorney General shall be defrayed by appropriation from the State General Fund and all user charges and fees authorized under this section shall be deposited into the State General Fund as authorized by law and as determined by the State Fiscal Officer.(4) From and after July 1, 2016, no state agency shall charge another state agency a fee, assessment, rent or other charge for services or resources received by authority of this section.
