Section 73-7-14 - [Effective 1/1/2025] Master cosmetologist, manicurist or esthetician license; continuing education requirements for license renewal
(1) Any person who holds a current, valid cosmetology, barbering, nail technology, or esthetics license may be licensed as a master cosmetologist, barber, nail technician or esthetician if he or she has been a licensed cosmetologist, barber, nail technician or esthetician in this state for a period of not less than twelve (12) months, and has completed a minimum course of sixteen (16) hours of continuing education approved by the board within the licensing period preceding initial application for the license, and has paid the original license fee. Master cosmetologist, barber, nail technician or esthetician licenses shall be renewable upon completion of a minimum course of eight (8) hours of continuing education approved by the board within a licensing period and payment of the required renewal fee. This is an optional license and pertains only to individuals wishing to complete the continuing education requirement .
(2) Each application or filing made under this section shall include the social security number(s) of the applicant in accordance with Section 93-11-64 .
(3) No license issued by the board may be renewed until all monetary fines and penalties assessed by the board to the licensee are paid in full.
