Section 65-3-71.191 - "Mississippi Heritage Highway" designated(1) U.S. Highway 82 in the State of Mississippi is designated and shall be known as the "Mississippi Heritage Highway."(2) The municipalities and counties along the highway shall designate historical sites and events along the Mississippi Heritage Highway to offer to tourists and targeted groups a structured tour of historical sites and events.(3) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall purchase appropriate Mississippi Heritage Highway markers from any of its available funds. The texts for the historical markers shall be approved by the department and the department shall erect and maintain the markers. Laws, 2012, ch. 541, § 5, eff. 7/1/2012.
