Section 43-27-8 - Duties and responsibilities of Department of Human ServicesThe Department of Human Services, shall administer the following duties and responsibilities:
(a) To implement and administer laws and policy relating to youth services and coordinate the efforts of the department with those of the federal government and other state departments and agencies, county governments, municipal governments and private agencies concerned with providing youth services.(b) To establish standards, provide technical assistance and exercise the requisite supervision as it relates to youth service programs over all state-supported juvenile correctional facilities.(c) To promulgate and publish such rules, regulations and policies of the department as are needed for the efficient government and maintenance of all facilities and programs in accord, insofar as possible, with currently accepted standards of juvenile care and treatment.Laws, 1973, ch. 438, § 4; Laws, 1989, ch. 544, § 102; Laws, 1990, ch. 522, § 21; Laws, 1991, ch. 434, § 2; Laws, 1992, ch. 585 § 6, eff. 5/14/1992.
