Section 37-153-221 - Mississippi K-12 Workforce Development Grant Program; administration; eligibility for grants under this program(1) The Office of Workforce Development shall establish and administer the Mississippi K-12 Workforce Development Grant Program for the purpose of constructing, remodeling, purchasing or upgrading equipment or otherwise providing support to career technical centers at the K-12 education level. The grant program shall be funded from any funds available to the Office of Workforce Development.(2) The Office of Workforce Development shall prescribe the terms and conditions of the grant program. To be eligible to receive a grant from the Office of Workforce Development under the grant program, a school at the K-12 education level shall provide the following information:(a) The number of students enrolled in the workforce development program for which the funds will be used;(b) The purpose of the program;(c) Whether the program fits into the ecosystem for the training needs in the area;(d) Evidence of the school's local involvement with industry partners in the area; and(e) Any other information that the office determines is necessary.(3) The Office of Workforce Development may use a maximum of five percent (5%) of funds for the program for the administration of the program.(4) The Office of Workforce Development shall comply with the reporting requirements provided in Section 37-153-7.
