Section 37-13-60.1 - Career information delivery system(1) The Mississippi State Occupational Information Coordinating Committee, hereinafter "SOICC," is hereby designated as the entity responsible for the operation and management of an occupational information system to support career development in elementary schools, middle/junior high schools, high schools, postsecondary institutions and human service agencies pursuant to the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Education Act of 1984, Public Law 98-524, Section 422(b).(2) SOICC shall develop and incorporate Mississippi-specific occupational and educational information to implement a career information delivery system for this state.(3) SOICC shall train local staff in the use and operation of the career information delivery system in the career development process.(4) SOICC shall establish the criteria pursuant to which appropriated funds will be distributed to local users of the career information delivery system.(5) On or before January 1 of each year, SOICC shall report to the Senate Education Committee and the House Education Committee of the Mississippi Legislature its assessment of the effectiveness and usefulness of the career information delivery system in the advancement of career development for state public school students.(6) SOICC is authorized to impose reasonable fees on users of the career information delivery system in order to defray a portion of the expense incurred in the operation and management of the career information delivery system.Laws, 1989, ch. 400, § 1, eff. 3/14/1989.
