Section 299C.5655 - MISSING PERSONS; STANDARDIZED REPORTS AND PROCEDURES(a) By September 1, 2009, the superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension shall develop: (1) a standardized form for use by all law enforcement agencies when taking a missing person report; and(2) a model policy that incorporates standard processes, procedures, and information to be provided to interested persons regarding developments in a missing person case.(b) In developing the standardized form and model policy, the superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension shall convene a working group that includes interested members of the public and representatives of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association, Minnesota Sheriffs' Association, Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, and a nonprofit foundation formed to assist in locating the missing persons. The working group shall be funded by private resources.
