Section 722.1465 - [Effective 91 days after adjournment of the 2024 Regular Session sine die] Use of act to determine parentageThis act cannot be used to determine parentage if 1 or more of the following is true:
(a) The child's parent has previously acknowledged parentage under the acknowledgment of parentage act, 1996 PA 305, MCL 722.1001 to 722.1013, or if the child's parentage has been established under the law of this or another state.(b) The child is subject to a pending adoption proceeding under the Michigan adoption code, chapter X of the probate code of 1939, 1939 PA 288, MCL 710.21 to 710.70, or if the child is subject to a pending adoption proceeding in another state.(c) The child is either of the following:(i) A child conceived through the use of assisted reproduction that does not involve surrogacy if the parents of the child may be determined under the assisted reproduction and surrogacy parentage act.(ii) A child conceived under a surrogacy agreement that complies with the assisted reproduction and surrogacy parentage act.Amended by 2024, Act 32,s 1, eff. 91 days after adjournment of the 2024 Regular Session sine die.Added by 2014, Act 365,s 3, eff. 3/17/2015.This section is set out more than once due to postponed, multiple, or conflicting amendments.
