Section 552.646 - Custodial parent committed to jail or alternative to jail under MCL 552.644(2)(f); violation of conditions of court; commitment to county jail without privilege; failure to return to place of confinement as escape from custody; misdemeanor; penalty
(1) If a custodial parent is committed to jail or an alternative to jail under section 44(2)(f) and violates the conditions ordered by the court, the court shall commit the person to the county jail without the privilege provided under section 44(2)(f) for the balance of the period of commitment imposed by the court.
(2) If a custodial parent is committed to jail or an alternative to jail under section 44(2)(f) and fails to return to the place of confinement within the time prescribed, the custodial parent shall be considered to have escaped from custody and is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment for not more than 1 year.
