Section 333.5401 - "Chronic disease" defined; general definitions and principles of construction(1) As used in this part, "chronic disease" includes an impairment or deviation from normal having 1 or more of the following characteristics: (b) It leaves residual disability.(c) It is caused by nonreversible pathological alterations.(d) It requires special training of the patient for rehabilitation.(e) It may be expected to require a long period of supervision, observation, or care.(2) In addition, article 1 contains general definitions and principles of construction applicable to all articles in this code and part 51 contains definitions applicable to this part.1978, Act 368, Eff. 9/30/1978 .
