Section 324.12116 - Violations; penalties(1) A person that violates section 12105(c), 12107(2) or (3), 12109(4), or 12112(1)(b) is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 30 days or a fine of not less than $200.00 and not more than $500.00, or both. A peace officer may issue an appearance ticket to a person who is in violation of section 12105(c), 12107(2) or (3), 12109(4), or 12112(1)(b).(2) A person that knowingly makes or causes to be made a false statement or entry in a registration or permit application or a shipping document under this part is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 2 years or a fine of not less than $2,500.00 or more than $10,000.00, or both.(3) A person that violates this part or a registration or permit issued under this part, except as provided in subsections (1) and (2), is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 6 months or a fine of not less than $1,000.00 or more than $2,500.00, or both.(4) Each day that a violation continues constitutes a separate violation.Amended by 2015, Act 224,s 14, eff. 3/16/2016.1994, Act 451, Eff. 3/30/1995 ;--Am. 1998, Act 140, Eff. 9/1/1998.
