The commissioner or chief executive officer of any state agency, as defined in section 8002, and the board of trustees of any state authority or organization may form informal, ad hoc advisory boards to advise the commissioner, director or board of trustees on any issue. In forming an ad hoc advisory board pursuant to this section, the commissioner, director or board of trustees shall make a reasonable effort to include a representative of all the interests that may be involved in or may be affected by the issue. Any ad hoc advisory board shall be deemed an informal board and shall not be required to be listed in this chapter. A member of any ad hoc advisory board shall be deemed not to be an officer of the State within the meaning of the Constitution of Maine. [1987, c. 786, §8(NEW).]
