2.Accidents in other states. On receipt of certification that the operating privilege of a resident of this State has been suspended or revoked by another state for failure to provide proof of financial responsibility under circumstances that require the Secretary of State to suspend a nonresident's operating privilege had an accident occurred in this State, the Secretary of State may suspend the license of that resident and the registrations of vehicles owned by that resident. The suspension may continue until the resident furnishes proof of compliance with the law of the other state.
