In cases where such an heir would take equal shares, the individual is entitled to the equivalent of a single share. The court shall equitably apportion the amount equivalent in value to the share denied such heir by the provisions of this section. [2017, c. 402, Pt. A, §2(NEW); 2019, c. 417, Pt. B, §14(AFF).]
