Section 56:695 - Purpose

This law is enacted by the legislature pursuant to Article X, Section 10(A)(1) of the Louisiana Constitution of 1974 in the exercise of the police power of the state, to promote the public peace and safety by providing better enforcement of the law.

ACTS 1989, NO. 337, §3 PROVIDES "THIS ACT SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IF AND WHEN THE BASE SALARY OF EACH PERSON ENTITLED TO A SUPPLEMENT PURSUANT TO SUBPART D OF PART III OF CHAPTER 6 OF TITLE 40 AND PART XII OF CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE 56 OF THE LOUISIANA REVISED STATUTES OF 1950 IS INCREASED BY AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO THE SUPPLEMENT TO WHICH THE PERSON IS ENTITLED ON THE DATE THAT THIS ACT BECOMES LAW."
