Section 56:282 - Powers and duties of the secretaryIn carrying out the purposes of the program authorized by R.S. 56:281, the secretary may do the following:
(1) Enter into cooperative endeavors with qualifying coastal landowners which provide for cost-sharing agreements with such coastal landowners to provide financial incentives for the trapping of nutria on land owned by them.(2) Determine, upon application by coastal landowners, which of the lands owned by such landowners are eligible for such financial incentives.(3) Have the responsibility for planning, administration and program management, and for monitoring the results of the program authorized by this Subpart.(4) Adopt and promulgate such rules and regulations, pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act, as necessary to implement this program in order to trap and control overpopulated nutria contributing to coastal wetland loss.Acts 1990, No. 552, §1, eff.
