Section 48:1151 - DefinitionsThe following terms whenever used or referred to in this Part shall have the following meanings except in those instances where the context clearly indicates otherwise:--
(a) "Bridge" means a toll bridge over navigable water operated by a bridge and ferry authority, and includes a ferry or ferries operated by such authority.(b) "Authority" means a bridge and ferry authority organized as a public corporation under the laws of the state of Louisiana for the construction, maintenance and operation of toll bridges and ferries.(c) "Construction" includes acquisition by purchase or otherwise.(d) "Department" means the department of highways created by R.S. 48:11 or such other agency or agencies which may hereafter exercise the powers now vested in the Department.(e) "Louisiana Public Service Commission" means the commission created by Const. 1921, Art. 6, §3 or such other agency or agencies which may hereafter exercise the powers now vested in said commission.La.
