Section 39:1697 - Disputed claimsA. In cases where a state agency states that payment is late due to reasonable cause, and said claim is disputed by the business owed payment, upon the request of a representative of the business the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget shall determine whether or not the circumstances constitute "reasonable cause" as used in R.S. 39:1695.B. No state agency shall be required to pay a penalty if it has submitted a warrant to the state treasurer at least thirty days prior to the due date prescribed by the contract.Added by Acts 1982, No. 709, §1; Acts 2014, No. 864, §2, eff.
